Tuning network(TCP) in windows 7

  • To show the TCP global settings:
    netsh interface tcp show global

    ** The above autotuninglevel setting is the result of Windows Scaling heuristics

    overriding any local/policy configuration on at least one profile.
  • To enable CTCP:
    netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp
    To disabled CTCP:
    netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=none
  • Disable Green Ethernet in Realtek NIC driver advanced properties. 
  • Measure the hard disk (drive letter c) throughput in windows vista/7
    winsat disk -drive c
